Why Repair, Not Replace
Cheaper, faster, and better for your car.
Often 100% free through insurance
Most California comprehensive policies waive the deductible on chip repair. That means $0 out of pocket — and you save hundreds vs. a full windshield replacement later.
Done in 30 minutes
Drop in for a same-day appointment. Our resin-injection repair takes about half an hour and you can drive right after. Faster than getting a coffee down the road.
Stops the crack from spreading
A chip left alone almost always spreads — one bump, one temperature swing on I-580 and it runs across your whole windshield. Repair now, keep your original factory glass.
Restores 90%+ optical clarity
Our optical-grade resin fills the damage and cures under UV. The chip becomes structurally sound and visually near-invisible on almost every impact we treat.
Preserves your factory seal
Keeping your original windshield means no risk of rain leaks, wind noise, or ADAS calibration issues that come with a replacement. Repair is always the better first option when it fits.

Repair or Replace?
Honest answer, in one minute.
Text us a photo at 925-492-7272 and we'll tell you straight. Here are the rules of thumb we use.
- Chip smaller than a quarterRepair
- Crack smaller than a quarterRepair
- Star break or bullseye out of driver's sight lineRepair
- Crack larger than a quarterReplace
- Damage in the driver's direct line of sightUsually replace
- Multiple chips or long stress cracksReplace
- Damage reaching the edge of the windshieldReplace
The Rule of Thumb
If it's smaller than a quarter, we can probably fix it.
Almost every chip caught within a week or two of the impact qualifies for repair. The two things that push a chip into replacement territory: a crack that runs larger than a quarter, or damage sitting directly in the driver's line of sight (where even a perfect repair could distract). You may see other shops advertise crack repair up to 6 inches — we do not. We only repair cracks smaller than a quarter to guarantee a safe, lasting result.
Types of Damage
Know what you're looking at.
Not sure if that mark on your windshield is fixable? Here are the five most common types of damage we see — and whether they're a candidate for repair.

Bullseye
A clean circular impact with a dark center dot, usually from a rock strike.
Repairable
Star Break
Small impact point with thin crack legs radiating outward like a starburst.
Repairable
Half Moon
A partial bullseye — a crescent-shaped impact instead of a full circle.
Repairable
Combination
A bullseye and star break together at the same impact point.
Usually repairable
Long Crack
A single line running across the glass. Other shops sometimes advertise crack repair up to 6 inches, but we do not repair any crack longer than the size of a quarter.
Not repairableHow It Works
From chip to fixed in half an hour.

5-Star Reviews
Repairs Dublin drivers love.
“Drove in with a chip, drove out 25 minutes later — completely free through my Geico policy. Chip is almost invisible now. Great little shop.”
“Rock hit my windshield on 580 and I called the next morning. They squeezed me in same day, filed my claim, and I paid nothing. Highly recommend.”
“Honest advice: I asked if I needed a full replacement, they said no — a $0 chip repair would hold. Two years later, still holding. Rare to find a shop this trustworthy.”
FAQs
Chip repair, answered.
Is windshield chip repair really free through insurance?+
Very often, yes. California comprehensive policies from Geico, State Farm, Allstate, Progressive, AAA, USAA and most other carriers waive the deductible on chip repair — because a $70–$80 repair prevents a $500+ replacement claim later. We file the claim for you at no additional cost.
How big of a chip can be repaired?+
We repair chips and cracks smaller than a quarter — provided they're not in the driver's direct line of sight and not touching the edge of the glass. Some shops advertise crack repair up to 6 inches, but we do not. We only repair cracks smaller than a quarter so the fix holds safely. Send us a photo and we'll tell you honestly whether repair will work.
How long does chip repair take?+
About 30 minutes from start to finish. You can drive immediately after — no wait time. Most repairs happen while you're on your phone in our waiting area.
Will the chip completely disappear?+
The chip becomes structurally sound and visually near-invisible in most cases — 90%+ optical clarity is typical. On some deep impacts a faint mark remains, but the spread is stopped and the glass is safe. We'll tell you upfront what to expect on your chip.
What happens if I wait too long?+
Every day the chip risks spreading. Temperature swings between AC and hot pavement, potholes on 580, even slamming the door can turn a $0 chip into a $500 replacement. Repair the same week if you can — most chips reach a point where only replacement will work.
Do you repair cracks or just chips?+
We repair chips and short cracks smaller than a quarter: bullseye, star break, half-moon, combination break, and surface pit. We do not repair any crack longer than a quarter, even though some shops claim 6-inch crack repair is safe. Longer cracks and driver-sight-line damage require a full windshield replacement — we do those too.
Do I need calibration after chip repair?+
No. Chip repair leaves your original windshield in place, so your ADAS cameras and sensors are undisturbed. This is one of the big advantages of repairing over replacing — no calibration bill, no risk of misalignment.
Stop it before it spreads.
Text us a photo now. If it qualifies for repair, we'll book you in this week — often at zero cost to you.
