Why Calibration Matters

Your safety systems depend on it.

A camera off by a single degree can miss a pedestrian by several feet. Here's what proper calibration protects — and why we won't skip it.

Safety systems that actually work

Lane-keep, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise, and forward collision warning depend on a windshield camera that is aligned to within tenths of a degree. Uncalibrated cameras can miss cars, pedestrians, and lane lines.

Static & dynamic calibration in-house

We perform both target-based static calibration and road-drive dynamic calibration — whichever your make and model requires. No sending your car to the dealer.

OEM-approved procedures

We follow the exact factory service procedure for Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Tesla, Ford, GM, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and every ADAS-equipped brand we service.

Scan-tool verified

Every calibration ends with a factory-level diagnostic scan. You get printed documentation showing all ADAS modules cleared with zero fault codes — important for insurance and resale.

Radar & camera alignment

We calibrate front-facing cameras, forward radars, and blind-spot sensors as needed after any windshield replacement, suspension work, or collision repair.

Diamond Certified® recognized

CHBB INC — the independent operator behind Low Price Auto Glass (Dublin) and Low Price Window Tint — has earned Diamond Certified® recognition for exceptionally high customer satisfaction.

What We Calibrate

Every ADAS system, done right.

Forward-facing camera

Lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, traffic sign recognition.

Automatic Emergency Braking

Detects pedestrians and vehicles ahead; requires precise camera and radar alignment.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Radar plus camera fusion — must be aligned as a system after windshield service.

Blind-spot Monitoring

Side radars need recalibration after suspension or body work in some vehicles.

Our Process

By-the-book calibration.

1

Diagnostic pre-scan

We plug in and record the current state of every ADAS module before we start. This is required by OEMs and protects you from being blamed for pre-existing faults.

2

Precise setup

The vehicle is squared on a level surface with correct tire pressure and fuel level. Camera targets are placed to the exact millimeter distance and height specified by the OEM.

3

Static & dynamic calibration

We run the target-based calibration in the shop, then complete any required dynamic drive cycle on nearby roads at the manufacturer-specified speeds.

4

Post-scan & documentation

Final scan confirms every module is calibrated with zero fault codes. You leave with printed documentation for your records and your insurance file.

5-Star Reviews

Dublin drivers trust our calibrations.

Toyota dealer wanted $450 just for the calibration after my windshield replacement. Low Price Auto Glass did the whole job — glass + ADAS — for less than that. Scan report was included.

My Subaru's EyeSight system was throwing errors after a shop nearby replaced my windshield. These guys diagnosed it in 20 minutes and re-calibrated properly. No more warning lights.
Rob T.
Straightforward, honest, and they explained every step of the calibration. Left with paperwork proving everything was in spec. Insurance approved with zero fuss.

FAQs

ADAS calibration, answered.

Do I really need ADAS calibration after a windshield replacement?+

Yes — if your vehicle has a forward-facing camera or sensor mounted to the windshield (nearly all cars built since 2018, and many earlier). Every major OEM (Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Tesla, Ford, GM, BMW, Mercedes) requires calibration after glass replacement. Skipping it can leave lane-keep, emergency braking, and adaptive cruise miscalibrated by several degrees — enough to miss a pedestrian.

What's the difference between static and dynamic calibration?+

Static calibration is performed in the shop using precision targets at OEM-specified distances. Dynamic calibration requires driving the car at specific speeds under specific conditions so the camera can auto-align. Some vehicles need one, some need the other, and many need both. We perform whichever your vehicle requires — in-house.

How long does windshield calibration take?+

Static calibration typically takes 45–90 minutes after the windshield is installed and cured. Dynamic calibration adds a 15–30 minute drive. We schedule everything in one visit so you're not making two trips.

How much does ADAS calibration cost?+

Standalone calibration typically ranges from $250–$495 depending on the vehicle and whether it needs static, dynamic, or both. When bundled with a windshield replacement through your insurance, it's usually covered under your comprehensive claim at no additional out-of-pocket cost.

Will my insurance cover the calibration?+

Yes. Every major carrier is required to cover ADAS recalibration when it's necessary after a covered windshield replacement. We file the claim and handle the approval — you don't pay separately.

Do you calibrate Teslas?+

Yes. We are experienced with Tesla Model 3, Y, S, X, and Cybertruck Autopilot camera calibration. Tesla has specific procedures that most independent shops don't follow — we do.

What happens if calibration isn't done correctly?+

The car may pass a normal drive with no dash warning, but the safety systems can be dangerously off. Emergency braking may trigger late (or not at all), lane-keep may wander, and adaptive cruise may misjudge distance. Uncalibrated ADAS is a documented crash risk — never skip it.

Book your calibration.

Bundle with a windshield replacement or book calibration on its own. We'll verify your safety systems are back in spec — with paperwork to prove it.
